Fist of the Blue Sky is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tetsuo Hara. It is a prequel to the popular manga Fist of the North Star and is set in Shanghai during the 1930s. The story follows Kenshiro Kasumi, the 62nd successor of the Hokuto Shinken martial arts style, as he fights the Hokuto families and helps his Triad friend and love interest. The manga was adapted into an anime series and has a continuation titled Sōten no Ken: Re:Genesis. The series incorporates real historical facts such as Shanghai's control by foreign concessions and the invasion of China by the Japanese Army.
